Chapter 2: Coffee's Garden of Eden

Coffee's Garden of Eden

One of the places identified as the biblical Garden of Eden was the land of 'Kush' which some believe was located in Ethiopia - the site of the earliest hominids and, of course, the Coffea Arabica plant.

The most enduring legend of coffee's beginnings revolves around the tale of a shepherd, Kaldi, and his goats - a story that has become incorporated into the coffee folklore of Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Yemen, as well as in its Ethiopian homeland.
